Taxonomy with multiple selection: OR vs AND

It seems to me that when you add media to a gallery/carousel through taxonomy, if you select multiple categories you get the media that fall in ANY selected category (category1 OR category2). Instead I’d like to get the media that fall in ALL selected categories (category1 AND category2). I believe this addition should not be complicated and would add great power and flexibility. Thanks in advance for your attention.
