I am using an Astra theme. When I have simple cache turned on and after its done a preload, on occasion a cached page will not be formatted throughout the page. I have played with different settings, and even re-installed WordPress and created the site from scratch, however the issue still occurs. The issue does not occur when I have cache off. Any ideas?

I have come across at least one other person who uses this theme who had problems with caching plugins. Check out the previous answer here. The theme seems to have random problems when the page is cached.

One solution seems to be enabling mobile support in WP Super Cache. That may help.

Thank you. After looking at the thread you suggested, I do not think enabling mobile support is an appropriate solution for my issue. Specifically, in the thread where enabling mobile support fixed their issue, the issue was an occasional Astra layout shift on mobile screens for cached pages. This is different from my issue, where on occasion a cached page is created that has no formatting throughout the page on both desktop and mobile. I understand that Astra is a responsive theme, needing only one cached version to cover both desktop and mobile, and that enabling mobile support is not appropriate for a responsive theme (see here). Do you or anyone else have any other ideas please?

    Hello @dragonwhisperer,

Can you consistently reproduce the issue on your site? If so, I would encourage you to open a GitHub issue with our development team here: https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/new.

As my colleague pointed out and as discussed in a previous issue, the formatting issue is most likely coming from the theme being used.

Do you or anyone else have any other ideas please?

In the meantime, you can try to use another one of our products, Jetpack Boost, which has its own caching functionality. Please let us know if you see different results while using Jetpack Boost.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for responding. I cannot consistently produce the issue. The issue occurs occasionally, however often enough to make cache unusable. I will not purchase Jetpack Boost, when the free product is not working.

    Thanks though.

    Hi there,

Could you change the theme and confirm if this is related to the Astra theme?

If so, I recommend contacting the theme’s support team for further assistance. They might have specific insights or solutions for compatibility with caching plugins. You can create a new topic here.

Additionally, you can try checking for any plugin conflicts by deactivating other plugins one by one to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps; please let us know how it goes.
