• I’ve been trying to use this plugin. There’s no explanation for it, I understand because it’s so simple. The thing is that when we publish a new post on our website, it’s not shared on our Bluesky profile, and I don’t know if it’s because it’s not working properly these days, due to the loss of Twitter users to this social network, or because there’s something I’m doing wrong.

There are only three sections to fill out, so I don’t understand what I could be doing wrong:

Bluesky Domain: The domain of my instance, including the https. In my case it’s https://nextn.bsky.social

Next, it wouldn’t be bad if there was a section to show how to get the additional configuration, since not everyone is familiar with the idea of ??having to create an app for this to work. For those who want to try it and don’t know how to get this, you must go into Bluesky SETTINGS, go down to the “Advanced” section and click on the lock icon that says “App Passwords”. Here you need to click the “Add app password” button, give your app a name and copy the password. Then, completing the configuration:

Bluesky “Identifier”: I understand that this is NOT my Bluesky username, but the name of the app I created in Bluesky. I don’t know if there could be a problem with lowercase and uppercase in the name, because that’s the only thing left to test. The fact is that here I have indicated the name of the app I created.

Password: The password that is automatically generated when you create your app.

Well, with all this, it doesn’t work. The “Debug Information” section of the plugin also doesn’t show any error message or anything that could help me find out why it doesn’t work. What else could it be? Of similar plugins, I have been using WP to Twitter (currently “Xposter”) and Revive Old Post (currently “Revive Social”) for over a decade, and I have never had any problems.

I’ve seen that some of the things I thought were wrong, and a post on this forum discusses some possible solutions. But nothing works, no new published posts appear in our Bluesky account (https://bsky.social/nextn). I’ve tried all of this:

Bluesky Domain:? Finally, I think what needs to be indicated here is this: https://bsky.social

Bluesky “Identifier”: Here I’ve tried to put (without quotes) “nextn”, “https://bsky.social/nextn”, or what I saw indicated in the post where they say they make the plugin work, “https://bsky.social/profile/nextn”

Password: Not the password for my Bluesky account, but for the app I’ve created. I have two apps created, could this be why? Because I don’t know how to know if the password is for one or the other without putting the name of the app in the configuration.

I think we need to be given more information about the settings for this app, I have tried loads of different things and still cannot get it to work, I even found a bit about changing my handle and adding a record to my DNS but that does not work either.

The same thing happens to me. It seems simple, because it only has 3 fields to fill in, but I’ve wasted time trying to find all the possible combinations without success. And of all the plugins for Bluesky, which there are hardly any, this is the one I want to trust, because of its creator. But seriously, I don’t know what else to try ??

I’m leaving another message here, in case the creator of this plugin could help us out.

@alias79 your understanding of the settings is correct.

Bluesky Domain: Right now, the only Bluesky Domain is https://bsky.app.
Bluesky “Identifier”: The Bluesky “Identifier” is the same as your profile URL: e.g. for me that’s https://bsky.app/profile/islandinthenet.com.
Password: The password that is generated at https://bsky.app/settings/app-passwords

For me that worked for several weeks and then somehow stopped working.

Hi Khürt! Thanks a lot for your help!

Do you know what I think my mistake might have been? I had put https://bsky.social. I didn’t look closely at that part, and I thought these were “instances” like on Mastodon. I didn’t realize I could claim my domain, so I’ve killed two birds with one stone.

Since last night, I’ve been testing 5 posts we’ve made… with no results ??

Here’s how I have the setup now:

Bluesky Domain: I now have https://bsky.app
Bluesky “Identifier”: Since I’ve verified my domain, here I now have https://bsky.app/profile/nextn.es
Password: Since my username changed, I’ve tested by creating a new app.

And nothing. It doesn’t work, no posts are sent to Bluesky. It would be very helpful if this plugin had some way to check that the connection was established correctly, or to give an error message in case it didn’t work, for whatever reason. It’s very frustrating to test this way.

Again, and likewise, thank you very much for your help!

I”m having the same problem. It’s just not doing anything

Has anyone got any support for this?

The Identifier is the same, you use in the username field when logging in. I will change the Settings to make that clear! Sorry about that!

I have tried several plugins with limited success, on one I was able to connect and post then the next day it did not work, I am not sure how stable bluesky is for posting to.

    Frank

    (@phasar40)

Bluesky is entirely stable to post to

I was using WP to Buffer Pro to post to Bluesky and it was an easy config and posted no problem

@phasar40 Yes I used that too for a while, but every other plugin has not worked for me more that a few days. Is this working for you now ?. I am using bluesky as a domain.

@phasar40 have you tried it with an App-Password: https://bsky.app/settings/app-passwords ???

@pfefferle I have tried it with the login password and 2 different app passwords.

    Bluesky Domain https://bsky.app

    Bluesky “Identifier” rfuinua.bsky.social

    Password 53bt-mpih-3wu3-jgxn

    (@pfefferle)

@phasar40 the username is only the subdomain part. please try rfuinua as identifier!
