Once an order is completed and shipped, there does not appear to be an option to purchase a new label. Such as, for example, if an order is returned for exchange or replacement, or if a wrong item is shipped out. In fact, this just happened. 30 minutes spent looking for a “purchase a new label option” and none to be found. Even resetting the order as “processing” didn’t work.

Takes much longer to navigate than the good old tried-and-true “Woocommerce Shipping and Tax” plugin.

I hate it. It just sucks.

    Hi @womac911

Sorry to hear about your experience, we are actively working on adding support for purchasing additional labels on an order and should have a solution out soon.

Takes much longer to navigate than the good old tried-and-true “Woocommerce Shipping and Tax” plugin.

I am curious about this statement as WC Shipping allows you to purchase labels with just a single click based on previous label purchase history, where as with WooCommerce Shipping & Tax you had to go through verifying multiple sections with clicks to purchase a label. Would you mind describing what taking you longer? We really value feedback and would like to improve where we can.

Hopefully our dedication to support and listening to feedback and making accommodating changes will make you reconsider your review.

I reactivated the plugin so I could run through the process.

    One click? No.

First click on create a label.

Then enter the weight of the package. All my packages have a similar weight.

    Then click get shipping rates.

Then select the service at the bottom of the window.. I use USPS priority mail.

Then click Purchase label on the right.

Then scroll all the way back up to the top top and click print label.

Then print the label when the print window opens up..

In contrast, the Woocommerce Shipping and Tax plugin…

Click the pink Create Shipping label button.

    Enter the weight.

Click use these packages (directly below the weight)

Click USPS priority mail as the service which opens up directly below where you clicked “Use these packages”

    And click buy shipping label.

Automatically, the shipping label print window opens up.

In the Shipping and Tax plugin, everything is pretty much linear, no hopping across thee screen to click this or that. Part of the issue with the new plugin is a bad, cluttered layout layout

Hi @womac911, thanks for laying out your workflow for us, it definitely helps us understand how you use the product to help improve it.

An improvement I see you can make to your workflow is around the weight field, it seems your products does not have weight values defined. I would urge you to please edit your products and then add weight values to each.

At present why things are not automated for you is because of the missing weight on products, once you update the products, the package weight will be automatically calculated and then shipping rates will be automatically fetched and your last service purchased will be auto selected so you could technically just click the purchase button then.

As for the auto open of print dialog, we removed this because a lot of users complained this was annoying, but I think we can find compromise by allowing this to be a setting that can be enabled, please keep an eye on a future release for this new option.
