Since the update, I can no longer access the MetaSlider ‘Home’ link on my website. Quick Start, Settings & Help and Upgrade to Pro all function as normal. When I click on MetaSlider > Home, I just get a blank, white screen. No error message. Nothing.

Is there a fix coming or can I roll back easily?

UPDATE: Eventually the following error appears:

    Error 503 Backend fetch failed
    Backend fetch failed

Hi @-q–1. Thanks for using MetaSlider. We’ve not had any other reports of this issue so let’s try and see what’s happening with your site.

Yes, please try rolling back to the previous release to see if that helps.

Rolling back seems to have cured the issue. It would suggest there is an issue with the plugin. Happy to help identify the problem if it helps you guys. Let me know what you need.

Having rolled back, I can no longer upload images to the Media Library. Each upload results in a ‘?’. I can access the MetaSlider ‘Home’ page.

I have gone back to the latest version of MetaSlider but still can’t upload images to the Media Library. Each upload just results in a ‘?’.?When I look in the uploads folder (2024/10) via ftp, no files are uploaded.

Just been emailed an error, probably when I rolled back:

    Hi @-q–1

which PHP and WordPress version are you using?

I recommend to re-install WordPress core in case there is a file corruption through the update section at /wp-admin/update-core.php and click “Re-install version 6.6.2”.

Then reinstall MetaSlider. You can download the last version and upload through Plugins section.

Thanks. We still haven’t had any more reports of this so it may be an issues that’s unique to your site.

Please try re-installing the WordPress core and then re-installing MetaSlider.

It does seem odd. Our hosting provider is restoring the site to a known, working state. I did try the plugin with all other plugins deactivated – no change in behaviour. I think my ‘rollback’ caused the image upload issues.

Not sure why, when all plugins disabled, Metaslider won’t allow me to access the Metaslider > Home, simply spitting out a blank page.

Hi, I have also had this problem.

Metaslider was working fine last week but today when I click on the ‘home’ option to add some new photos to the slideshow on our hompage I get taken to a white page with a message saying “There has been a critical error on this website. ?Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”.

I have yet to receive an email with instructions.

This thread has been reassuring to see someone else is having the same issue – If I try the fix of re-installing metaslider, will I lose the slideshows I currently have active on the site?

    Thank you

    Hi @kirrink @-q–1

reinstalling MetaSlider won’t delete your slideshows.

would you mind to send us an email to help[at]metaslider.com – Include the URL of this forum post in the message as reference. Then reply here to know the email has been sent.

    Hi @htmgarcia

Thank you – I have sent you an email!

I rolled back to the previous version of MetaSlider which resolved the issue, so its definitely an issue with the latest version of MetaSlider.

I too have sent an email. Not sure if you were asking me or kirrink or both of us.

Same problem. With 3.92.0 version clicking home show critical error. Switching back to 3.91.0 versions solves the issue

    Hi @petka7

do you get an error with more details? You can check the error logs or ask to your hosting provider for more information.

    Regards
