Hi, I was going through the documentation but I wasn’t able to find anything involving modifying access to the backend settings of the plugin. It looks like users must have ‘manage_options’ in order to access the settings. I was wondering how I would allow either “Shop Managers” access to the plugin settings or add a capability to certain roles to allow them access to the settings.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @bw10 ,

I understand how important it is to manage access to the plugin settings effectively.

The Pixel Manager for WooCommerce (PMW) automatically grants full edit access to both administrators and shop managers by default.

However, if custom roles or capability changes are being used, PMW doesn’t provide a way to modify access rights directly. In such cases, the standard admin and shop manager roles will need to be utilized.

Let me know how it goes.

I am using the “View Admin As” plugin. I selected “Shop Manager” and the “Pixel Manager” link under Woocommerce is hidden. I also can not access the admin page if I go it to directly.

    Mydomain /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpm

When I search the source code, ‘shop_manager’ is only once for the is_allowed_to_show_pmw_notification function. When I search ‘current_user_can’ I only find ‘manage_options’ and ‘switch_themes’. Nothing pointing to anything involved with Shop Manager.

I have the free plugin by the way.

    Hi @bw10 ,

Thank you for your follow-up, and I apologize for the confusion earlier.

Currently, access to the plugin settings is restricted to administrators only. This is the default setup, as plugin settings pages are typically reserved for admins.

In the pro version, it is possible to exclude admins and shop managers (or any role) from tracking in the settings.

That said, you’re absolutely right, and it could make sense to enable edit access for shop managers too. We’ve actually made adjustments in our developmen site, and with the next release, shop managers will have access to the settings page.

I appreciate your patience, and please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
