On a multisite, where Wordfence has been installed for a long time (as a network plugin) the Wordfence menu isn’t shown anywhere.
    I tried /wp-admin/network/admin.php?page=Wordfence and /wp-admin/admin.php?page=Wordfence
Both give a you’re not allowed to watch this page error
Because Wordfence was blocking creating network users locally, I had to disable Wordfence.

    Hi @rdekeijzer,

Thanks for reaching out. Can you check if Wordfence is still deactivated, please? If so, then you would see that error message and you wouldn’t see Wordfence in the menu, as Wordfence needs to be activated for the plugin options to be accessible.

Outside of that, the message “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” as you probably know is a WordPress default message when you don’t have the right user level to access the page. Please double-check your WordPress account role to ensure you have the correct permissions.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks,
    Margaret

It was enabled when I got the error message and couldn’t see the menu item.
I disabled it, because the plugin hindered the customer. And I couldn’t do anything to see what the actual issue was and how to fix it.
I now re-enabled the plugin again and the menu item is visible again. Even after logging out and logging in again.
    So all looks good now.
And my user role was and is admin.
