• I am facing a significant issue with the Ultimate Member plugin’s page restriction functionality, which now appears to be affecting the page layout in an irreversible way.

After setting a page’s access permissions with restrictions, the page began displaying only the text “1” when accessed by unauthorized users. Additionally, the page’s header and footer have completely disappeared, as if the page layout itself has been broken. I’ve tried adjusting the permissions to “No Login Required,” but the issue persists, and it appears that this error is now irreversible.

Here are further details on the issue:

    • Page Builder: Elementor
    • Expected Behavior: Page should display the full layout with the custom unauthorized message when restricted
    • Current Behavior: Page displays only “1” with no header or footer, and setting it to open access does not restore the original layout

    Troubleshooting steps I’ve tried:

    1. Confirmed the custom unauthorized message is correctly set in Ultimate Member’s settings.
    2. Attempted to reset the page’s permissions to “No Login Required,” but the error continues.
    3. Cleared all website caches to eliminate any caching conflicts.
    4. Ensured all plugins, themes, and WordPress core are fully up-to-date.

Thank you for your help on this urgent matter.

    Hello @chrissypeng

Do you have this issue when you are not using custom layout and just default layouts? Have you tried to the the website with default theme?

    Hello @aswingiri,

The severe error where the page displayed only “1” with no header or footer has been resolved, although we couldn’t identify the exact cause of the issue.

I have another question regarding restricted content settings. I created a category page using Elementor’s Theme Builder, and I’ve enabled permissions in the Ultimate Member backend to restrict access to members only. However, despite setting these restrictions and marking the category as viewable only by members, the content is still visible to all users on the frontend.

Could you advise on how to ensure these category pages are properly restricted and viewable only to authorized users?

Thank you again for your assistance!
