I enabled Wordfence for our website’s security since it has been hacked twice. When enabled, I configured settings and now the day after, I cannot log in as admin. I ask my colleague to disable the wordfence and I got in but when we try to enable it back, it keeps loading. What could be the cause of this? I already checked the blocked IPs, my IP wasn’t there even the user blocklist. So the best solution was to disable wordfence temporarily. Please help.

FYI: The website has 3 security plugins, WPSecurity, ALLinOne Security and Wordfence

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @lovelacedee, sorry to see you’re having trouble.

Overlapping features?could?result in more of your site’s resources being used during scans etc. when installing more than one security suite/firewall. You may also experience conflicts or more than one plugin trying to check logins etc. Wordfence does have some modules that can be disabled but not all products do so be careful in which features you like/dislike from each.

There are ways to check if Wordfence was blocking the action of another plugin or a firewall had been triggered but it may be difficult if the site isn’t usable whenever you enable it. The best test for me would be to see if your site behaves as intended when Wordfence is your only active plugin. If it does, reenable your other plugins one-by-one to see when the loading/timeout problem reoccurs. This may hint to an incompatibility or conflict so will help with troubleshooting a potential issue.

Our documentation around Live Traffic could help you look for false-positive blocks where Wordfence may be blocking the action of another plugin but would require the site to be working with Wordfence active to try: https://www.wordfence.com/help/tools/live-traffic/

    Product documentation:?https://www.wordfence.com/help/
    Our free learning center:?https://www.wordfence.com/learn/

Also note that our 2FA/reCAPTCHA when enabled are designed to work with the default WordPress and WooCommerce login/registration pages only so compatibility issues may occur with custom login pages or ones generated by other plugins.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.
