• We run a small not for profit music organization to present ancient and medieval music. These guys consider our artistic mission a “commercial site” because we ask for donations. I appealed and this isn’t a mistake. They list on their site that not for profit organizations are supposed to pay. It makes no sense.

    Hi @calebcuster

Non-profit organizations that solicit donations are indeed classified as commercial sites and require a paid Jetpack Stats plan. If your site does not solicit donations, you can opt for the non-commercial plan and pay what you want. For more details, you can visit Jetpack Stats.

We need donations to operate. But it’s also a lot easier to delete this plugin and turn on Google Site Kit. At least it’s not bloated with a lot of features you don’t need. All this plugin does is show you stats from a different section of your own site. There’s no value being provided or reason to pay for it.

What a joke! You will qualify for a free non-profit account as long as you never ask for donations.

    Hey there,

I get why this feels frustrating, especially for a small non-profit. The reason we classify sites that ask for donations as commercial is to ensure that the resources needed to support them—like Stats—are available for everyone. This helps us keep things running smoothly across the board.

That said, I understand if you feel Jetpack doesn’t align with your needs right now. If there’s anything else I can do or questions you have, feel free to reach out.

    Best regards!
