System info: MAMP on Mac OSX 10.5 WordPress 3.0.2

The registration process appears to be successful, as a confirmation message is displayed, however NO EMAIL is sent to the user.

I forgot… I tried inserting the simple [Register] tag first. Then I tried adding the optional fields, but no changes can be observed.

Undefined Index is a harmless error (though one I will clean up). So the email issue should not have anything to with that. It’s more likely something with your MAMP setup. Let me give it a try on my end with the same setup and get back to you.

Thanks a lot for replying so promptly!!

I found out that does depend on the fact that I am using the free version of MAMP. It simply does not come with an active email server!!

While I am here, may you suggest a book on WordPress?

I am developing an online booking service and I would be keen to know if there is some textbook that focuses on the connection to the database and its customization.
Do you think it make sense to use WordPress for such a purpose? Should I move to Drupal?

    Thank you.

This book on WordPress looks good
