The page title appears before the meta title. On all my other pages it displays correctly, i.e. “meta title – page title”, but why is it reversed and with a colon on the homepage? Can you advise me where the problem is?

    Hello!

Google rewrites your titles if they think that serves their users better. To learn about that, see https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/title-link.

They often put the company/brand name on the front of the title for the homepage if it isn’t already. This is why TSF does that by default for the homepage as well.

And, Google often adds the company/brand name at the end of the title for every other page, even when the brand name is missing.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about this. They can also ignore your descriptions (and even canonical URLs, but that’s rare).

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if there’s anything else I can explain. Cheers!
