Is it not possible to change the post rating?

  • As far as I can tell, wpDiscuz does not allow users to change their post rating vote. The problem with this is that if a user clicks incorrectly, there is no way to change their vote.

    Usually, plugins of this type either have a button for users to confirm their intention to vote or the rating remains editable (in case the user wants to change/correct it).

    This feature exists for post comments but not for post ratings. Why is that?

    I couldn’t find this feature. Does it really not exist in wpDiscuz?

    If it really doesn’t exist, is this feature in development? Is there any intention to implement it?

    My suggestion is to implement it so that the stars remain editable even after the user votes (so they can change it at any time).

    Hi,

    wpDiscuz comes with two post-rating options.

    1. Stand-alone Post Rating, this is not based on comment form custom fields.
    2. Post Rating Based on Comment Rating Field. This is a comment-depended way.

    In the case of the first one, it’s not possible. However, if you’re using the Post Rating Based on Comment Rating Field you can change the article rating while you’re editing the comment.

    I’d like to leave a suggestion.

    I suggest that Discuz adds a feature allowing users to change their article rating at any time (especially in the more modern “Stand-alone Post Rating”).

    Discuz already allows this change for comment ratings. My suggestion is to extend this functionality across all of Discuz, thereby standardizing and unifying its behavior.

    As it currently stands, it’s quite flawed. The “Post Rating Based on Comment Rating Field” method is outdated, and the “Stand-alone Post Rating” in its current form is insecure, as accidental or incorrect votes can happen.

    The best solution would be for Discuz to allow users to change their rating at any time. However, a temporary alternative would be to include a confirmation button for the vote.

    Discuz’s comment system is excellent, but the article rating system is lacking. It has room for improvement.

    I’d be happy to see these changes implemented.
