The Publishpress Checklist plugin seems to be incompatible with Yoast SEO. YoastSEO features in the post edit screen (such as Search Results Appearances or “traffic lights”) do not work if Checklist is enabled. Disabling Publishpress Checklist makes everything work properly again.

    Hi @mbossi

    Thanks for using our plugin.

Can you please let me know the PublishPress Checklists version and Yoast version you are using please?

    Thanks,

Of course. These are the versions of the plugins we use:

    Yoast SEO PRO 23.2
    Publishprerss Checklist 2.13.0

At this time we had to deactivate Checklist to make Yoast work.

@mbossi I tried with Yoast SEO 23.4 and PublishPress Checklists 2.13 and did not find an issue.

Can you please check if this only happens on Yoast SEO Pro version only?

The problem persists even when disabling the PRO version of Yoast SEO.
When Publishpress Checklist is activated, the Yoast functions inside the post edit page do not work. As soon as I deactivate Checklist everything works normally.

In the error log I find this error:

[03-Sep-2024 22:44:13 UTC] PHP Warning: Undefined property: PublishPress\Checklists\Yoastseo\Requirement\Seo_Analysis::$group in /home/……../public_html/wp-content/plugins/publishpress-checklists/modules/checklists/templates/global-checklists.php on line 62

@mbossi That warning should not be related. Can you share screen recording how it behaves on your site, please?

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, please reply again here, or you can start a new thread.

    Thanks,

Hi, I can confirm that this issue exists. When the Publishpress Checklist plugin is enabled, the Yoast SEO features on the post edit screen stopped working after last update.

I reverted back to version 2.12.0, and now the Yoast SEO features are working properly again. There are no errors in the log, which confirms the issue is related to the latest update.

    Best

@nlukic Do you might have any screen record on this one so we could understand this issue better?

@nlukic I did not see that behavior on my testing. Can you screenshot what checklist requirement you are enabled for that post type?

Okay, apologies, yes that is important. The options ‘categories required’ and ‘featured image required’ are checked. When I turn off selected checks, the Yoast SEO fields populate correctly again. But when I enable either of these options, Yoast doesn’t display again.

I switched to the default theme, and the problem persists.

    Best

and now I got this in error log (php 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 tested):
