Hi, I’m trying to set up Google Pay and Apple Pay digital wallets on a website. I can checkout fine, but the returned shipping rates aren’t complete. It seems like I can’t get realtime rates sent back even though they are showing up on the /cart or /checkout page.

Is the Square plugin only compatible with certain shipping methods for this use case? or specific real time rate plugins? Or maybe I need to have certain settings for default customer location or something else?

Thank you for contacting us about this. To learn more and provide more targeted support, can you share a link to your site so we can review this firsthand?

Do you use WooCommerce’s default shipping options (flat rate, free shipping, etc.), or do you use a third-party plugin to handle your shipping options in a more advanced way? (And if so, what are you using?)

Can you please also share some screenshots to help us investigate this further? You can use?https://prnt.sc/?or?https://snipboard.io?to share screenshots here.

    We need screenshots of:
    WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Click on Edit on a Shipping Zone
WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Click on Edit on a Shipping Zone → Click on Edit on each shipping method so we can check the specific settings.
A screenshot of a checkout or an order that shows this issue.

    Thanks!

We mostly use this FedEx plugin (https://www.pluginhive.com/product/woocommerce-fedex-shipping-plugin-with-print-label/), but also have certain items set up with flat rate that are heavy, local pickup, and free shipping over X price depending on region. We use the Advanced Shipping Packages plugin to define that logic (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-advanced-shipping-packages/).

I don’t have the functionality on the live website or staging right now to show you, but overall I’d say we have a more complicated shipping set up for this site than other WooCommerce sites I’ve worked on.

Shipping main page / zones: https://prnt.sc/zm9CqdCZaCvv
Example shipping zone: https://prnt.sc/OI_XkBVZFr9W (FedEx doesn’t show up as a method on the zones with the plugin we use)
Fedex doesn’t have a shipping zone, it’s managed on its own settings page: https://prnt.sc/6FGtXNXpm_20

That FedEx plugin has a fallback value of $16 if it can’t verify an address to get a quoted price. It either has that or $0 for shipping costs on test orders I’ve made.

I think it’s a lot for me to ask to fix my specific issue, but I’m more interested in what does work that I can try or what limitations would be reasonable to expect. I’m willing to try a different FedEx plugin or other options. The documentation and troubleshooting don’t really go over real time rates for Digital Wallets so any clarification on how I can work within the plugin’s digital wallet implementation would be very helpful.

Thanks for getting back to me!

    Hello jasperketone,

    Thank you for your reply.

It sounds like your business logic relies on a combination of several plugins, including FedEx, flat rates, and the Advanced Shipping Packages plugin. This type of complex setup can sometimes create conflicts or limitations when working with real-time shipping rates.

The Square plugin itself doesn’t have strict limitations regarding specific shipping methods or rate plugins, but issues can arise depending on how the plugins interact.

For your situation, it would be best to consult a professional WooCommerce developer who can help assess your current setup and recommend which plugins or configurations would work best for your shipping needs with digital wallets. You can find experienced developers at Codable.io or WooExperts.com.

Additionally, you can seek advice from the WooCommerce community:
