The website has the correct up to date WordPress installed which has been confirmed with the hosting company. Version 6.6.1

However, the offer displayed to re-install WordPress displays v5.1.1.

It seems that this is causing problems with the ability to update the PHP, currently 7.4 to PHP 8 as doing so causes a fatal error. Neither myself nor the host support can understand why with the correct up to date WordPress installed a vastly outdated re-install is being displayed.

Any suggestions how to resolve this welcome.

    Thanks

Not needed thanks. Just realised client had a plugin with the ability to reset WP to an older version that was set to 5.1.1 So problem solved.
