Stripe Payment Method Issue

Hello,
I’m experiencing an issue with two new subscriptions.
Both clients subscribed in July. We offer a seven-day free trial, and after the trial period, the subscription successfully activated and the transactions were processed without any issues.
However, this month, I encountered the following error for these two subscriptions:
“The provided PaymentMethod was previously used with a PaymentIntent without Customer attachment, shared with a connected account without Customer attachment, or was detached from a Customer. It may not be used again. To use a PaymentMethod multiple times, you must attach it to a Customer first.”
Could you explain why this happened?
How can I process the payment without asking my customers to renew their subscriptions, considering they just signed up?
Additionally, how can I prevent this from happening in the future?
