• Hello,

When I want to update my website from version 6.4.4 to version 6.1.1, it does not work. The following sentence appears: “Another update is currently in progress.”. I tried the plugin “Fix Another Update In Progress” but nothing changed. I also looked in the database but there is no line “core_updater.lock”…
Can you help me solve this problem please?
Knowing that I have this problem on 2 different sites.

    Kind regards,

    Marine

  • Is it working in the meantime? Normally the lock should have a timeout for such an update.

If not, check whether you have a file called .maintenance in the root directory of WordPress. You should delete it.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your feedback!
The error is still there even 24 hours later. So I looked for the .maintenance file in the WordPress root directory but there is none…

Have a look under Tools > Site Health to see if there are any anomalies. Also pay attention to the disk space in your hosting – if it is full, it could also lead to such confusing messages.

There must be no entry core_updater.lock in the options table in the database. Check this again and make sure you are looking in the right table (it is easy to overlook this).
