• I’m following the instructions exactly, but it seems no matter what I try I always get a connection error when trying to test within my GPT. I’m using a staging site with the base theme, with no other plug-ins, so I’ve ruled out conflicts on that front.

My hosting (SiteGround) has confirmed they are not blocking any API connection attempts. In fact, no relevant error logs seem to be created at all.

I’ve tried using no authentication as in the instructions and also with API tokens, but the error connecting is always the same.

I’m starting to think something has changed in the way OpenAI handles these connections and this method no longer works? Can anything confirm they have used this method to connect their WordPress site to a GPT and it is working correctly as of today (August 26, 2024)?

Well, here’s an unfortunate update for anyone who comes across this: it turns out that SiteGround hosting actually does block these method of connection from OpenAI, and there is really no way to bypass it. If anyone has somehow gotten it to work anyway on SG hosting please share how.
