User Integration with MyBB

  • I hope it is Ok that I ask here cause I don’t see any other forum that would work. I would like to integrate wordpress with MyBB forum, but the different plugins I’ve found are older and haven’t had an update in years. Is there any safe ways to integrate MyBB with WordPress through the script itself or though something like Joomla to network the whole thing together?

    Of course, both WordPress and myBB are 100% open-source software, so nothing should stop you from doing this. But then you’re going to write the code to do this yourself to tie the two scripts together, as there’s no native integration from either end.

    Your best bet will be to “adopt” one of these plugins and takes care of its maintenance (compatibility, security, etc) going forward.

    Of course, you could migrate your myBB forum to a WordPress forum plugin so everything stays within WordPress, or migrate to a modern forum software with actively-developed WordPress plugin.
