I use this plugin to notify members of a forum of new content or replies. However, when I include the variable [reply-excerpt] in the email it results in the phrase “You are not allowed to view this content”.

This implies the recipient may never the see the content which I am sure is not intended. Instead I would either like it to include a short excerpt or say “you need to log in to see it”.

    Is either of these possible?

    Hi @bobjgarrett,

It sounds like the topic is private, or you have a membership plugin installed. Please let me know which case it is so that I can investigate further.

    Cheers,

Yes, the topics are private and members need to log in to see the actual forum posts. Does that mean we cannot include the extract even though they are being sent to those with login rights? Surely the plugin has access so can do the extract for the email?

Hi @bobjgarrett , sorry for the delay to reply.

The message is not generated by my plugin, but by whatever controls the access. You’ll need to find out what plugin is generating that message (bbPress, BuddyBoss?) and add a filter for it.

    Cheers,
    Vinny
