I’m experiencing intermittent issues with WP Mail SMTP plugin when using Office 365/Outlook as the mailer. Some users encounter a “Your submission failed because of a server error” message upon form submission (by pressing “Enter”). The form data is successfully saved, but the email notification is not sent.

    Environment

    • WordPress Version: 6.6.1
    • WP Mail SMTP Version: 3.9.0
    • Host: World4you

    Observations

    1. The issue occurs sporadically and is not consistently reproducible.
    2. Form data is successfully saved in the database.
    3. Email notifications fail to send when the error occurs.
    4. In the Plugin Dashboard, I get this message -> cURL error 7: Failed to connect to graph.microsoft.com port 443: Connection refused

    Questions

    1. Has anyone encountered similar issues with WP Mail SMTP and Office 365/Outlook?
    2. Are there any known conflicts between WP Mail SMTP and specific form plugins?
    3. Could the hosting environment (World4you) be a factor in this issue?

Any insights or suggestions for further troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi @skaddicted,

Thank you for contacting us, and I’m sorry about the inconvenience.

The error indicates that there’s an issue with the cURL library on your server, and this is not specific to the plugin.

You may need to contact your hosting provider and provide them with this error message; they should be able to fix it for you. It’s likely that the cURL library needs to be updated.

If you’re still experiencing any issues and have a Pro license, you can also create a support ticket.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!
