  • I didn’t know where to post this question :

    Is it possible to install the very same THEME used in the site, with a new, updated version of the SAME THEME into the WordPress site, and all of the pages will come back looking and working as they did before?

    Background: a recent event trashed the theme, and WordPress techs applying to ‘fix’ the broken site are telling me that WordPress cannot do that. Even though all the data and images are still there, and the site seems to work with no theme.

    That’s what should happen, though an update might bring changes, depending on what changed in the theme. Be sure to clear any caches after an update.

    That’s impossible. There is a theme. What is the active theme under settings -> themes? The site associated with your profile seems to be using the twentytwentyone theme.
