Hi there, I hope you are well.

I am struggling to coonect my Google Ads account to the plugin during the on-boarding process. This is happening because I connected my wordpress account with a different email that is sued for my Google Ads account + Merchant centre account. This is extremely frustrating because nowhere was there a prompt that advised me these email accounts need to match.

Anyway, now I created a WordPress account and logged in and my website is connected to this email address but I am a “reader” only, so I cannot view general > settings to disconnect the site and it it to the WordPress account that uses the same email account as my Google Ads account.

I do not have Jetpack installed but it is saying this –

ResponseRequest: GET /wc/gla/jetpack/connected Status: 200 Response: { “active”: “yes”, “owner”: “yes”, “displayName”: “#####1ce81ea8fb”, “email”: “accounts@####.com” } Saved Connection option = connected

    here are logs –

    2024-08-01T11:09:28+00:00 Error Automattic\WooCommerce\GoogleListingsAndAds\API\Google\Middleware::link_ads_account Client error: POST https://api.woocommerce.com/google/manager/link-customer resulted in a 400 Bad Request response: {“statusCode”:400,”error”:”Bad Request”,”message”:”Unable to create link for the customer account”} 2024-08-01T11:09:35+00:00 Error Automattic\WooCommerce\GoogleListingsAndAds\API\Google\Middleware::link_ads_account Client error: POST https://api.woocommerce.com/google/manager/link-customer resulted in a 400 Bad Request response: {“statusCode”:400,”error”:”Bad Request”,”message”:”Unable to create link for the customer account”} 2024-08-01T11:15:16+00:00 Error Automattic\WooCommerce\GoogleListingsAndAds\API\Google\Middleware::link_ads_account Client error: POST https://api.woocommerce.com/google/manager/link-customer resulted in a 400 Bad Request response: {“statusCode”:400,”error”:”Bad Request”,”message”:”Unable to create link for the customer account”}

Again, I cannot remove the site from this WordPress.com account because it seems to be “read” only. So what are my next steps? Do I make the email account connected to WordPress an admin of my Google Ads account too? Or what do I do?

Please seriously consider adding a prompt to warn people that they should connect all the accounts to the same email address.

  • Hi there,

I’m doing well, and I hope you’re doing well too! ??

I understand that you set up Google for WooCommerce using a different email account during the onboarding process and it is causing some issues.

    1. Can you go into further detail about the complication you’re having with using a different email address for the WordPress.com connection and the Google Merchant Center connection?

For your reference, I tried to set this up myself but had no problem using separate accounts, so any screenshots or additional details you can provide would be super helpful!

    2. In order to disconnect your store from Google and restart the process, you should log in to the admin page of your website and navigate to this page (replace the domain with your actual site): https://yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page

From there, you will be able to manually disconnect the site from Google using the “Disconnect Google Account” button.

Note:?Google Listings & Ads uses Jetpack services to initiate the connection to WordPress.com; the Jetpack plugin is?not?required.

See our documentation for reference: https://woocommerce.com/document/google-listings-and-ads/

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have further questions or concerns ??

If you connect a wordpress.com account during the setup and at a later time you realize it was the wrong wordpress.com account, you’re tough out of luck. If you click on “disconnect from all accounts” your wordpress.com account would still be there while all others would be disconnected.

Why would you people make it like this? Jesus Christ, I’ve been working with wordpress for almost 12 years and I’ve never seen such a badly made plugin. Are you trying deliberately to piss off your user base? It’s just disgraceful!
