Displaying Children in Parent Category Index Page

This doesn’t seem like it should be something hard to do, but I’m finding it impossible and I’m banging my head against a wall over here ??

The category is JOURNALS. Within it, it has numerous CHILDREN.

I want the JOURNALS page to pull the posts from the children, and just display them in order, via pagination.

This seems like something that should be easy, but no matter what I do, I cannot get anything to pull-up when I go to the JOURNALS page. It’s blank, and doesn’t even pull the right template.

But, if i go to one of the children, it is directed to the right template page everytime. I don’t know what to do.

I’ve tried using the category number or the name of the category, and both will show the CHILD displaying, but not the PARENT ??
