I’ve been working on setting up this plugin and it was working just dandy untill all-of-the-sudden, the profile information for users disappeared. I can see the info as a logged-in user/ I can even edit it and republish it as a user, but it’s not appearing. The profile photo and banner show up but everything else is missing.
There are options to make fields “not appear” but they are not turned on. I should be able to see the bio, and bussiness name, and website, etc. But they are not appearing.

I’ve been going through the settings over and over but can’t find the issue.

    Thanks

    1. Try to do a Theme/Plugin conflict test if your Theme
or additional custom code in the functions.php file
or another Plugin is causing a conflict with UM.

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/96-how-to-do-a-plugin-theme-conflict-test

    2. Enable PHP error logging if the debug will give some more info about this issue.

Read this guide: “How to enable debug logging”

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1751-enable-debug-logging

You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors in this file:
    .../wp-content/debug.log

Post the content of this file here in the Forum and we can give you the
PHP error explanation. For best formatting use the Forum’s CODE format.

    Thanks @missveronicatv

Ok. I tried turning off plugins and switching themes. No luck.

I have not changed anything in functions.php

I replaced the code suggested to config.php instructions

but it didn’t appear to do anything.

    It didn’t create the debug.log

so I added it manually. But it’s just empty. Is there a particular action i need to do to make it write something? I tried making changes to the profile and saving but nothing happened.

    1. Look at your setup of the UM Core pages.

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/38-pages-tab

    2. Try to make a new Profile form with a few User fields in the UM Forms Builder.
Change the form_id in the UM shortcode to the new Form ID.

@missveronicatv I’ve already tried adding a new profile template under pages and assigning the profile form to it. I’ve also tried deleting all the form fields and recreating them.

But the user form id “1414” did not change when I did this. Should it?

You can try to do a “Site Health” check with WP Tools -> Site Health.
Look at both the “Status” and “Info” tabs for issues with UM.

I’m not seeing anything that looks like an error:

Does it matter that “in_group:” has no value on the form fields?

    @divineragency

The form with id=”1413″ seems to be a Members Directory form.

Your page .../user/chris-bolton-1/ should be built by a shortcode
pointing at an UM Profile form

    Thread Starter divineragency

    (@divineragency)

It is a bit odd because the short code for the User profile page is [ultimatemember form_id=”1412″]

But under Settings>Pages it says 1414 under User.

Maybe that happened when I created the test page.

But the correct page seems to be selected. Is there something I can change? I tried changing the short code on the User profile page but that just broke the page more.

Look at UN Settings -> General -> Pages if you have any Warnings.
Verify the Page settings are unique and the form ids are correct.

Ok. I’ve tried all the things. I’m giving up on this plugin for now. Thanks anyway.

It happened to me too. I struggled a lot tryin’ to get the info back…but no way.

So I got back to a 7-days previous backup version of my website, and then I made the changes I made before, well…I found out that it all happens when I turn on and off the “about” and “post” tabs.

As I do that simple operation, all infos of my users disappear, and there’s no going back! I mean…no matter if I go back to the previous situation of Tabs “on” and “off”: the infos never come back again (and I have to go back to a backup).

I got…it was definitely my bad…I mean: the issue with the tags…

I found out that what happens…is that with the setting “no tabs”, UM shows the info. What I was missing..is that what I (we) call the “info” and the “About” Tab are effectively the same thing! So of course…if I set some tabs ON , but I turn the “About” tab off…the info turns off too.
