[400] error “cannot be more than 20 characters”.

  • I’ve just installed this plugin to test before purchasing, but I’m receiving the following error when attempting to sync products from woocommerce to etsy:

    Received HTTP status code [400] with error “cannot be more than 20 characters”.

    The product title is 45 characters but I understand Etsy supports 140 characters for the title.

    There is only one tag in woocommerce and it is 14 characters. The category name in woocommerce is 25 characters.

    What exactly is it complaining about?

    In this case its most likely the category name. In general, this is an error that comes from Etsy. It means that individual words somewhere are too long. It could be inside the title, tags or in this case the category. When you have a random looking error like that, the best thing is too expand your search, and to assume it means more then you think it does.
