I’ve only been using WP-Stats for about a month and just need very basic stats. Since Monday I’ve been getting error messages on the WP Dashboard Edit post pages on newly published posts. The first one reads:

Error connecting to WordPress REST API. Disable ad-blocker for this page or unblock /wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/metabox in the ad-blocker configuration.

Today’s message on a different new post reads:

Failed to retrieve data. Please check the browser console and the XHR request under Network → XHR for details.

I’ve no idea what these mean and would sincerely appreciate guidance. THANKS.

  • I have the exact same problem since July 17, 2024.

“Error connecting to WordPress REST API. Disable ad-blocker for this page or unblock /wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/metabox in the ad-blocker configuration.”

A day later, the error message changed to,
“Failed to retrieve data. Please check the browser console and the XHR request under Network → XHR for details.”

This made it impossible to retrieve the “Daily Traffic Trend” for each post and fixed pages at all since July 17, 2024.

However, the overall (i.e. not individual pages) “Daily Traffic Trend” in the widget works fine.

I would appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thank you,
