[Plugin: ZenphotoPress] Security and ZPP ZP

On the same server as my ZP gallery, I have a WordPress blog with the WPP plugin, set to the correct file paths of my ZP gallery. But, no albums show up regardless of whether I use the shortcode or the ZPP button. According to the FAQ this may be caused by something like my .htaccess file to keep people (and therefore possibly ZPP) from directly browsing to my photos.

I want to protect my photos by using ZP’s nice password and watermarking features and I want to put thumbnails on my WP blog which link to the ZP gallery.

Is this possible? Ie, do I need to remove .htaccess to use the plugin? If not, how do I get around this?
