Good concept but full of bugs
-
Let’s start with the good: the plugin design and concept are really good. Functionally speaking, Eventin is great.
Unfortunately, there are many inconsistencies that make the current version (4.0.3) unfit for production use. Here are examples:
- Location management: sometimes, you edit the location and it isn’t saved. You can do it as many times as you want and it just won’t save for that event. The only solution I’ve found is to do a minor edit to the description and then it will save.
- Event URL: unable to change an event URL. I couldn’t find a workaround for this one.
- Attendee management: this is when it gets REALLY BAD ?? If I add attendees via the back-end, they are counted twice on the front end. Then I went to the front-end and was able to overbook the event. So I removed events from the back-end, and the count on the front-end remained the same. Worst of all, different components of the plugin take attendee count information from different pieces of information: either the number of sales (Woocommerce), a database tag, or the count of attendees.
I have been trying to use the pro version for about two weeks and there is one bug after another; I have reported five and I have stopped reporting new ones for now, for lack of time. At the beginning, support was helpful, but I haven’t heard back from them in two days.
All in all, I hope they can fix all this and give the good product design the code it deserves.
