With a lot of variable products with 36 variations (all being downloadable software), I realistically use wp-admin to edit each one. That would also pose (physical) accessibility issues for me.

With so many variations gaining the wrong Regular Price / SKUs, I have a big problem!

Before the support changes, WordPress support recommended a plugin to remove all traces of previously used and unistalled plugins. However, I felt out of my depth using it.

    I have forgotten it’s name.

I am now wondering whether the redundant column headings / data are responsible for my variable product corruption…

    Has anybody else experienced this?
Does anybody know of such a “old plugin data removing” plugin?

    Many thanks.

  • Hey there, @limeat! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

WordPress support recommended a plugin to remove all traces of previously used and unistalled plugins.?

As I understand you are looking for a plugin that will help remove any residual data left behind by deleted plugins, correct?

Have you tried Advanced Database Cleaner?

I am now wondering whether the redundant column headings / data are responsible for my variable product corruption…

Do you mind sharing more details about the issue you are facing so we can assist you further?

Are you seeing this issues on a CSV file?

    What exactly is happening?

Can you share some screenshots of it with us? I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Carol

Thanks so much for your reply – things have just nose dived even further…

    https://snipboard.io/0DzJ7t.jpg

Amy 1 to 24 Individual commercial users has the regular price of: GBP 55.00

    The variation ID is 419837
    Shortcodes in table:

    [woocs_price id=419837 currency=GBP]
    [woocs_price id=419837 currency=EUR]
    [woocs_price id=419837 currency=USD]

    Plugin shortcode: Fox Currency Switcher

It has never failed. Every time I export the Amy product category csv, I find that Regular Price and SKU data has been allocated to different (Amy) variation IDs.

I honestly don’t know what to do now. GoCardless works for just voice products, but not for UK Alinea Suite variations as they are eligible for Uk Disability VAT Exemption, something that took me a very long time to implement (without the awful dedicated plugin for that purpose)

    Thanks again Carol.

    Hello limeat

    Thank you for your reply.

Before the support changes, WordPress support recommended a plugin to remove all traces of previously used and unistalled plugins. However, I felt out of my depth using it.

Could you share a link to the thread where you were recommended a plugin?
Woo support normally does not recommend plugins that modify the core database or features because it can lead to complex problems.

To confirm, you are facing these two problems:
    – You have a lot of variable products with 36 variations.
    – Many products have incorrect prices.

As requested in the previous message, could you export all the products into a CSV file and share it with me? Reviewing the CSV file will give us a better understanding of your issue.

It would be helpful if you could also share a few screenshots of product settings and highlight the price discrepancies.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

Hi. Many thanks for your reply. A Freelancer (yesterday) used Advanced Database Cleaner on my site last night, be he didn’t think it had done much.

For example, a full product csv export that I did JUST now contains: Meta: _aioseo_keywords

I switched from AIOSEO to Yoast roughly a year ago…

The csv export that I have just got ends with column EK, but contains a product with 9 downloads (I create bundles but don’t use a plugin to do so).

You can see my csv file here:
    https://limetechmedia.co.uk/media/ALL_product-export-11-07-2024.csv

I suspect that data redundancy is the reason why product variations are corrupting, but solving it is another problem ??

    Thanks again!

    Hello limeat

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that a freelancer ran Advanced Database Cleaner plugin.

The main problem you are facing is that the prices of products (and variations) change due to some error. Let’s focus on this issue.

It is highly unlikely that unused columns in the database from deleted plugins like AIOSEO are causing this. It is quite common to have unused fields and sometimes even tables from deleted plugins.
They should not affect the functionality of the website.

There is something else causing this problem.
When the prices change, is there a pattern to it?
Like they increase or decrease by a certain amount.

How soon does this occur when you update the prices to the correct values?
Any information regarding this matter will be helpful to fix the issue.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

I am glad to tell you that the problem has been fixed by a brilliant freelancer!

    He used: https://meowapps.com/products/database-cleaner-pro/

Thank you everybody who replied, this really was keeping me awake at night!

My next “mission”: the find a split payment platform like GoCardless but who has facilities for UK Disability VAT Exemption and minimum order quantity rules (basic IF, THAN ELSE statements!).

If you are such a company reading this, please let me know!

    Thanks again everybody.

Hey @limeat, that’s great to hear! Thanks for letting us know the site’s database received some much-needed love.

My next “mission”: the find a split payment platform like GoCardless but who has facilities for UK Disability VAT Exemption and minimum order quantity rules (basic IF, THAN ELSE statements!).

Could you elaborate further on that, please?

There are plugins, like GoCardless for WooCommerce, and you can always post a job here. Something tells me the needs are different here, though. Cheers!
