Failed to generate Critical CSS with Concatenate CSS Enabled

    I am currently trying to generate Critical CSS with Concatenate CSS Enabled, but it continues to fail to generate endless I disable concatenate CSS. My exclusions are admin-bar, dashicons, elementor-app. Are there other things I need to exclude? Is there something else in my configuration that may be causing the issues? I am currently generating critical css without concatenate css enabled until I can determine the issue.

  • Hi @zaneattipnnv. Is the settings page showing an error when it fails to create critical css? Can you share a screenshot of it if there is one?

    I keep receiving errors on this forum when attempting to upload a screen shot. I copied the text I receive when trying to generate critical css. No error code is given to me.

    With concatenate css enabled:

    Failed to Generate Critical CSS

    An unexpected error has occurred. As this error may be temproary please try and refresh the critical CSS.

    Error:

    Without concatenate css enabled:

    5 files generated 6 minutes ago. Remember to regenerate each time you make changes that affect your HTML or CSS structure

    Thanks, would you be able to disable and test your plugins one by one to check if there’s a conflict between them and Jetpack Boost? Perhaps one of them adds CSS to the page that is causing the problem when both these settings are enabled in Boost.

    I disabled all of my plugins except for Jetpack, Jetpack boost, WP Super Cache, Elementor, and Elementor Pro, but the issue still persists. I assume that it is an issue with elementor, but I can’t disable that plugin without causing a outage.

    Hello @zaneattipnnv – if you will go to Elementor ? Settings ? Features section in your WP Admin, you will fine some site performance optimization feature that comes in-built with Elementor plugin like Lazy Load Background Images, Improved CSS Loading, Inline Font Icons, etc. Could you please disable them temporarily to check if that solve the issue? Sometime using similar features from two different plugins can create issues.
