I installed this plugin, which I’ve been using on dozens of client’s websites for about a decade now, and never run into this issue before.

When I try to navigate to ANY settings page for this plugin, I get diverted to the plugin’s Setup Guide page, and presented with a few options, none of which do anything. I’ve tried clicking on “Skip” “Next” and any other options I’m supposed to be able to interact with and none of them do anything, the Setup Guide form is dead and unresponsive.

Normally I just bypass this setup guide as I’ve done this a thousand times and know what settings to use for my client’s websites, however because all pages redirect me to this broken setup guide page, I can’t manually configure the plugin like I normally would. Because the guide is broken, I can’t let the guide run, then adjust the settings to suit my client’s needs afterwards either.

    The plugin is completely inoperable!

This website is supposed to be launching within the next 5 business days and I can’t launch it incomplete like this. I need all components working. I’ve used W3 Total Cache for a decade, and been very loyal to the plugin, but I need an optimization plugin that’s working and soon.

    Hello @radiantfreedom

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
It seems that the problem is isolated to some specific environment. I’ve tried to replicate this issue and add the plugin to a fresh installation, and I was able to skip the setup guide completely.

We have not made any changes in the recent updates that may impact this behavior.

Are there any custom redirect rules added or do you have any security plugin that may be adding this?

Is there a chance you could add the URL of the website?

    Thanks!

I can post the link now, but at the time I first posted this, the site was still saved as a draft: https://c-choice.ca/

The site’s still under development, but is mostly done now. I have WordFence running, however I’ve had W3 Total Cache running alongside WordFence for nearly 10 years with no issues until now. I can try using a different browser and see if there’s an issue related to the browser.

The other possibility is there’s an issue with the host, which is GoDaddy. I am noticing the plugin images don’t load and appear to be blocked by GoDaddy as far as I can tell as I’ve only ever encountered this issue on that one particular hosting configuration on this one client’s GoDaddy.

I can confirm it’s not coming from the browser.

Here’s some video I recorded of the issue for you to see what I’m seeing: I show it on 2 different browsers: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16L6raIurAgx1EzoP1BdUNhlVMZa9rlUp/view?usp=drive_link (if it’s not watchable, give it a bit of time for Google to finish processing the video)

Does this plugin run the setup guide via any sort of cloud service originating from your own servers? I’m having similar issues with another plugin, Shareaholic, that also uses the cloud to manage some of the settings and the cloud features are also not working. In Shareaholic’s case, nothing is being displayed.

I’ve contacted my client’s host provider and verified there is a host provided firewall in place that may be blocking cloud features of some plugins. I’ve summitted a support ticket with them to see if this is the case and I’ll see if they can whitelist you to prevent you from being blocked in the future.
