Won't let me install when deleted domain to start again due to error

I have been trying to install a new blog to start a new project. I installed the WordPress blog successfully at first, but then had problems with FTP’d files and installing a plugin, so after discussing things with Hostgator, we deleted my domain in order to start over. When I finally got all that done and tried to install a new blog, it gave me an error that it could only have one script installed–and it won’t let me install it. I know all the files were deleted when the add-on and sub-domain were both removed. Currently, there are no other files in the domain–I hope someone can suggest a way to fix this so I can install the blog on that domain. Thank you.
