I managed to successfully import a portion of my database (about 600 articles). But now every time I even visit the import page and press anything (like just “test connection”) it freezes my browser and nothing happens. In Firefox it maxes my browser cpu usage to one full core and hangs for days (actually tried leaving it be a few days), while in Edge it hangs at 0% cpu. By hangs I mean the page becomes unresponsive and I get the loading circle cursor. Edge gives me an error “page is not responding due to a long-running script”. FF also gave me something similar, but I don’t remember exactly what as I dismissed it permanently.

I tried adding the wp memory limit line in wp-config, but nothing changes.

I started with FG 3.2.0 and now upgraded to 3.9.1. Still the same. Since it freezes before I even start/resume import, I fear it may have issues with perhaps a corrupted log or something. Should I delete the imports and just start over?

In case it matters, I am on a rented web host that only has php 5.2.17 and mysql 5.0.58.

You can try to delete the log file wp-content/uploads/fg-joomla-to-wordpress.log to see if it change something.
I also advise that you use at least PHP 5.3.

Thank you. Deleting the log file helped.
