Events-Manager-Extended

I am having a problem with updating this plug-in, I have been told this is a wordpress issue and not a problem with the plugin according to the plugin developer. I have not been able to install any of the updates without having to delete the earlier version first, this time the plugin creates the new folder but crashes and does not completely install. In installation list I get a messages saying the plugin failed because the folder already exists, when before the update was started the old folder was deactivated and removed. Can someone tell me what is wrong.
