Unable to block Facebook Bot

    We are trying to block the facebook bot. We have added the block rule as follows:

    Hostname – *.fbsv.net

    However live traffic still shows hundreds of requests per minute bombarding the site.

    We added the block for the amazon bot (crawl.amazonbot.amazon), and it worked perfectly.

    Any ideas why blocking facebook does not work?

    Hi @tonyastley, thanks for reaching out!

    You may be experiencing issues here as Facebook may still be entirely allowlisted from being throttled in Wordfence > All Options > Firewall Options > Advanced Firewall Options > Allowlisted Services.

    Our Rate Limiting settings can also be adjusted to be more or less strict depending on your preference. You can find details about that and our recommended settings here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/rate-limiting/
