I posted about this before, but it seems like the issue has re-established itself in which I am (sometimes) getting an error saying ‘There has been an error. Please choose another payment source.’ When I clear the cache, this error goes away, but I can’t understandably just keep clearing the cache to correct this. I don’t know if there is a comment with another plugin that is causing this, but it is very frustrating and I don’t know how to fix it. I was also wondering if it maybe is a problem with the theme I am using?

Please let me know if you need a copy of the system status report and where I should post it.

I also have not used a ‘child theme’ so I don’t know if this could be contributing.

    Hi @bobbyferran,

I tried replicating the issue but I wasn’t able to get this error, I was able to go up to the “Complete Purchase” in PayPal (of course I’m not fully completing the order). Can you tell us if the error comes before or after this step?

There has been an error. Please choose another payment source.’

Additionally, can you share a screenshot of the error if you have one? You can use a service like Snipboard as I did just now. I’m curious to learn more. Do you see anything on your browser’s console, too, when you get this error?

Can you also tell us which plugin specifically are you using for the PayPal Payments? Are your WordPress, WooCommerce, and PayPal plugins all up to date?

Finally, please also share your Fatal error logs?(if any) found under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your message.

Under the browser consul parent process, the only error is with a Favicon load error.

The error comes up before that step in the image. The paypal window will open with a spinning circle, but then it will close and I will get the error message on the screen in a white box. All I do is clear the cache and the issue resolves itself, but I seem to have this issue everyday and always need to clear the cache to fix it.

The paypal button is set under WooCommerce – settings – payments and all plugins are up to date.

There were no fatal errors listed under woocommerce – status – logs, only a list of Browse Log Files.

Since I previously cleared the cache, the button seems to be working again but I need to find the source of the problem to avoid this error altogether.

This is the image I get when I do receive the error. This image was from when I posted about this before and the error is still occurring once a day it seems.

    Hi @bobbyferran,

To clarify, are you clearing your site’s cache or your browser’s cache? If you’re using a cache plugin, pleas make sure you’re excluding the cart and checkout pages from it: https://developer.woocommerce.com/docs/how-to-configure-caching-plugins-for-woocommerce/#0-excluding-pages-from-the-cache

The paypal button is set under WooCommerce – settings – payments and all plugins are up to date.

Please check under your plugins list and let me know which one you’re using for PayPal! ?? There are plenty of options for it, and some are from third parties (not developed or supported by us). You can also share your plugin’s list if you’re not sure which plugin is it!

    Thanks!

Yes, I need to clear the caching plugin for it to work again. The options I have to add an exclusion are ‘starts with’, ‘equal to’, ‘contains’ and ‘regular expression.’ Since the other urls that were automatically excluded were using ‘starts with’ this is the term I used to add the ‘cart’ url and ‘checkout’ url but I am not sure if this is the correct term. Thank you again.

The plugin for paypal is the WooCommerce payments setting in Woocommerce. It is not an additional plugin.

In regards to fatal errors under logs, there were none, only ‘Browse log files’ and ‘Settings.’

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello bobbyferran

    Thank you for your reply.

I have reviewed the SSR you shared and noticed that there are multiple cache plugins active on the site.
    1- Endurance Browser Cache
    2- Endurance Page Cache
    3- WP Fastest Cache
    4- SQLite Object Cache

I also noticed the Performance Lab plugin that might conflict with the above-mentioned plugins.
To diagnose the issue further, could disable the 4 plugins listed above and see if the issue persists?

I will also recommend contacting the respective plugin support teams and ask if they are compatible with each other.

I look forward to your reply. ??

    Best regards.

    (@bobbyferran)

Thank you for your reply. I will reach out to each of the plugin support. Since this problem seems to happen once a day and when I specifically clear WP Fastest Cache it resolves itself, I will need to wait until the error shows up again to see if one of these plugins is causing it. Right now it is working again but the issue did show up several hours ago, I deleted the cache and the issue resolved itself.

    Hey, @bobbyferran!

Please note that having multiple cache plugins can cause a lot of issues. We suggest keeping only one and checking if the issue persists, as the four of them together might be causing the conflict. ??

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thank you. I have disabled the extra caching options so I will keep an eye to see if this issue comes up again. Another question which I posted about before but did not get a resolution, the ‘Pay With Woopay’ button is quite slow to open the ‘Woopay’ payment page. It takes 13-15 seconds to redirect. Is there any way to speed this up?

    Hi @bobbyferran,

?I have disabled the extra caching options so I will keep an eye to see if this issue comes up again.

Sounds like a plan. Please keep us updated.

the ‘Pay With Woopay’ button is quite slow to open the ‘Woopay’ payment page. It takes 13-15 seconds to redirect.

For your button’s slow response time, there could be several reasons for this. It could be because of server response time, or even network issues.

You can test your website’s overall speed using tools like Google’s PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix. This will help identify if the issue is site-wide or specific to the Woopay plugin.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

The GTMetrix grade was A with an 87% performance rating and a 97% structure rating. The issue seems to be only with this ‘Pay with Woopay’ button.

    Thank you again.

I see you have another thread for this here. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’ll follow up in that thread to keep things in order.
