• With the last update on 6/11/24, our system began deleting the files in 1 to 2 hours without us changing the setting which we had on “yes” or “do not delete” files. We have enabled this setting again. But we lost 3 days worth of files. Are these files cached somewhere or can they be restored? Also, has anyone else reported this behavior? Thanks.

  • Yes we are experiencing a similar issue on our site as well. Though we have the free version installed, it seems the recent update has affected both versions. I hope they are cached somewhere so that we don’t have to roll back to a previous version of our site. I feel this was a very sudden thing that happened and my client has lost some files as well.

    Hello @jbcavanaugh @jenelevate ,

I’m really sorry, and I’d like to apologize for the issues caused by our plugin in the recent update. It was not our intention to delete files due to the removal of certain options/settings. We were optimizing the settings to improve performance.

The recent changes involve modifying the options table. Instead of retrieving each settings using get_option(which about 15-20 query), we now use a single get_option call to get all the settings from an array.

During the release of version 1.3.7.8, the “Don’t delete files” option was accidentally removed or hidden. In the recent update, we added the option back and did not anticipate that it could affect users’ current settings. You can view the logs here.

Version 1.3.7.9 is a stable release, so any changes you make to the settings will not be overwritten in future updates.

Thanks for your understanding and reported the issue.

    Hi Glen ( @glenwpcoder ),

Thank you for your response. We were able to retrieve most of the lost files via our website’s backup function and in our email inbox submissions (phew!)

However, I just wanted to confirm that this “don’t delete” function should be working properly from now on? It will still remain available in the free version?

On the plugin overview page, it implies under the “note” that the free version does not have this option and that files are automatically deleted within 1-2 hours, but I still see the option available in the recent updated free version of the plugin.

    Thank you!

@jenelevate thanks for letting me know and sorry about that.

Yes, disable auto delete features is still work and available in the free version I only offer in the pro to adjust the time before deletion.

I haven’t included this information in the plugin description because the feature was hidden, but I will probably add it to the FAQ.

    Thank You.
