  • Hi @byographic

Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

i have configured the taxes as illustrated in the screenshots below, but taxes are not shown during checkout

This is because the tax settings are to display prices including taxes, currently (screenshot linked here, for reference).

For customizing the settings further, I’d recommend taking a look at the documentation (linked here), in case a chance to do so did not come up already.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

I’ve also tried to add a new test product e selecting the special VAT at 10% for food items named as “alimentari”

    Hey, @byographic!

    Thanks for the information!

I see your taxes are calculated based on the shop address, not the customer’s.
Your taxes are only set up to Italy. Can you please confirm if the shop address is on Italy?
You can check that under WooCommerce > Settings > General.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Yes because the shop is in Italy and we pay taxes based on the company address not where we ship the product.

this means that if a customers buy from Europe or USA we will pay taxes in Italy and the amount will be the same correct?

    Hi @byographic

Yes, you’re correct. If your tax settings are configured to calculate taxes based on your shop’s address, then customers from Europe, USA, or any other location will be charged the Italian tax rate that you’ve set up. This remains the same regardless of the shipping destination. In this case, instead of “IT” use “*” so that it gets applied to all countries you sell.

Additionally, please note that this configuration might not align with tax laws in certain regions. It’s advisable to consult with a tax professional to ensure your settings comply with international tax laws.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you for the clarification using “*” instead of “IT” in the TAX Rates settings have solved the issue!

I will consult with a tax professional to verify the compliance in all the regions.
