Dashboard: no Screen Options and constant "loading…"

Hi everyone.
I apologise in advance if my troubles my seem trivial to you guys but I admit I am no expert about wordpress. I tried my best to find solutions to my problem around, but seems like nothing’s helping me at the moment.

I just installed a brand new wordpress 3.0.1 on a brand new purchased domain+host on GoDaddy.
I started to notice issues when trying to change the date/time of a post, as clicking the link to modify it changed the url to wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit#edit_timestamp but nothing actually happened.
I have no plugins installed although from the 2 default ones, I had Akismet activated and upgraded for the first 10 minutes maybe? Now, just to make sure, I deactivated it.

Not sure if it’s the same kind of issue or a separate one, but the thing about clicking on a link and/or potential dropdown menu (like Screen Options) and having nothing happening more than the url change happens on other links too, the aforementioned “screen options” and the “help” too.

Also, on the widgets page, I just can’t really drag and drop them at all. I tried to modify the screen options but… given the aforementioned issue with screen options… now I am kind of stuck.

any help/suggestion will be more than welcome and appreciated.
