    Hi,

I believe there is a misconception with the Pay Later feature in the plugin settings:

It is currently possible to disable the Pay Later (4x) button, and yet keep the messages everywhere.

I spent an hour trying to figure out how to disable that Pay in 4x FEATURE:
    – I had to guess it was called “Pay later” in the admin..
    – Once there I unchecked the “enable” checkbox.
    – The messages to pay in 4x kept showing up on product page, cart etc..
    – Took me an hour to figure out I had to ALSO disable every message location.

My point is: if we disable the button, why would we want to keep the messages since the customer won’t be able to use the feature at checkout? What do you think? I am missing a point?

    Feature request:
    1. Rename the setting “Pay Later” tab to include the “4x” mention so we can find it..
    2. Place a global Enable/disable checkbox on top of that setting tab page.

    Thank you!

    Hello @soulshakepower

Thanks for reaching out to us, we’re here to help.

Pay Later messaging and the Pay Later button are distinct features. The button is included in the PayPal button stack, whereas the messaging can be positioned almost anywhere on the site as a promotional tool.

My point is: if we disable the button, why would we want to keep the messages since the customer won’t be able to use the feature at checkout? What do you think? I am missing a point?

Disabling the Pay Later button does not mean that the buyer cannot pay via Pay Later as PayPal may still provide this option within the PayPal popup window. This cannot be controlled by the plugin. There are also plenty of users who choose to display only the Pay Later messaging e.g. on the single product and Cart pages while only showing the Pay Later button on the Checkout page.

    1. Rename the setting “Pay Later” tab to include the “4x” mention so we can find it..

4x is only the Pay Later offer for France, but not for any other supported region. French translations are only at ~20% and?none of the Pay Later strings have been translated yet. These translations are currently maintained by the?www.remarpro.com?community. PayPal is working on providing official plugin translations, but these will take some more time before they are ready.

    2. Place a global Enable/disable checkbox on top of that setting tab page.

I believe this request is connected to the initial problem you mentioned in the video.

When I uncheck all messages locations, and click save, they keep being enabled and checked again!

It’s likely due to your cache plugin. You should either clear the cache or temporarily disable it before turning off the Pay Later messaging. Please, let us know how it works on your end.

I’m looking forward to your response.

    Kind regards,
    Krystian

I have the same issue as mentioned above. I cleared all cache, removed the plugin and still the check boxes are marked as checked after update. It must be a bug. Any help?

    Hi Syde,

    Thanks for quick reply,

I understand the need to have independent setting for the message and the button.

Nevertheless I can confirm that even after clearing cache or even disabling any plugins, the checkboxes get checked again after clicking update. How could a caching plugin re-save/change your plugin settings in the back-end anyway?

    Thanks for your help!

    Cheers,

    Martin

    Hello @soulshakepower

If the issue continues please download and install the updated package from the following link:?Download Fixed Version. In this version, you can switch back to using the old legacy Pay Later messaging configuration.

This can be done using a specific code snippet provided in our documentation. Here is the link to the necessary snippet to restore the legacy Pay Later messaging configurator:?Restore Legacy Pay Later Messaging Configurator. You can easily implement this filter using the?Code Snippets?plugin. This change may work better with aggressive caching systems.

Please try these solutions, and let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian

    Hi Krystian,

I think I will stay with my 2 lines of CSS to hide the messages, seems a more convenient/relevant fix to me than putting an older version with a snippet. But thanks for the option.

Now, in version 2.8.0 I don’t have the Pay Later options anymore as I am using Vaulting:
“You have PayPal vaulting enabled, that’s why Pay Later options are unavailable now. You cannot use both features at the same time.”

So I guess that fixes it for me! Thanks
