    I am getting an update notification, but it will not fire. What to do?

    Hello @hebhansen Are you able to use CLI instead? Shell in and run wp wc update

    Hi there @hebhansen,

    I understand you are facing trouble updating your WooCommerce database to the latest version.

    Could you try deactivating all your plugins and only leave WooCommerce as the active plugin and try updating the database to see if it works? If it does, go ahead and start activating your plugins back, one at a time.

    Can you advice how to do this in CLI. I only used it once and it took forever and messed up, so I will need a step by step to go in that direction.

    Is there another way than turning off my entire site, seriously…

    They’re not asking you to turn your site off. You can use an app like Coming Soon by Seaprod to put your site in maintenance mode first. Then deactivate all your apps except WooCommerce and try.

    You can even try disabling Woo then turn it back on and then run update.

    If that doesn’t work have you tried going into WooCommerce > Status > Tools and then scroll down a ways and click update database.

    For CLI do you already know how to shell in?

    Please note that using CLI to run the database update would depend on if your host allows using commands to perform tasks in your server. It also requires technical knowledge to run CLI to make the update. Be sure to make a full site backup before proceeding.

    I understand your concern about disabling plugins for a conflict test on your live site. While this is the most common method, you may also perform a conflict test by creating a staging site – a complete copy of your existing website. This allows you to test the changes without affecting your live site.

    Updating from Status > Tools worked perfect. I also flushed and cleared some stuff from that same location.
