On one of my pages I have a sign-in block which is set to display for logged out users only (screenshot).

However the sign in block still displays for admins on the front-end, which it did not before. This is pretty confusing for admin users as it still shows the logged out content. I would expect that in the editor, not but not on the front-end.

I tested with a non-admin account and it works as expected.

    Hi @bkno,

    Thanks for the post!

This has been reported and is already fixed, but the update will be released much later as we’re doing last-minute checks to make sure nothing is missed.

We’ll let you know once the update is available.

    We appreciate your patience! ??

Hi, is there any progress on the pending plugin update?

I am having similar issues. I have 3 custom roles created using the User Role Editor plugin.

2 of my custom roles “Team Member” and “Affiliate Member” have been granted only the “Read” capability. Block Content Controls for these user roles works as expected.

My custom role “Site Manager” has the same capabilities as the default “Editor” role.

If I log in either as an “Administrator” or “Site Manager” I am able to view blocks that should only show for “Logged Out Users”, “Team Members” and “Affiliate Members”.

The “Site Manager” role can also see blocks that should only show for “Administrator” and vice versa.

I am assuming that your pending update will address these issues?

    Hi @iannich ,

Sorry about the update delay, and thanks for your patience.

The update should fix those restriction issues.

Though we can’t give an ETA, our developers are ironing out some final areas before releasing the update.

We’ll keep you posted, and we’re happy to help if you have more questions in the meantime.

This should be resolved in v2.4.0. Thank you all for your continued patience. We were in the middle of optimizing a lot of the plugin for performance improvements, and needed to finish that to ensure it was reliable before we could ship this fix as well.

Hi I am using the “classic widget” interface to show/hide widgets according to user role, unfortunately widgets are always being displayed to website admins.

Is this expected behavior? Because it seems to relate to this post & it’s confusing website admins. Im on 2.5.0, all up to date.

    Other roles work fine tho
