Menu disappeared after updating WordPress

  • Hi, I am reporting that I had some problems with the WP environment upgrade which caused the menu set as secondary menu to disappear. In detail, I upgraded the WP environment from version 6.3.2 to version 6.5.3. There was no update for the Menu Image plugin as it was already at the last available version 3.11. Once the updates were done, the menu had disappeared to the frontend and in the backend the menu was present but without any menu item.
    Error log did not report any indication of this. I assume that the relationships between menu items and the secondary menu had been lost.
    To fix the problem I had to restore a backup, deactivate the Menu Image plugin, run the updates and reactivate the Menu Image plugin: the updates were successful and the menu is visible.
