• Dear CF7-Team,

    I recently discovered a line of code in the mails by CF7 which include an image. As you wrote in your readme.txt there are some features, that sent personal data to their providers. As I want to prevent data protection violations, I would like to know how to deactivate it or what features send personal data to their providers.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards
    f31ixx

    In case you overlooked it I quote the Privacy notices section from readme.txt:

    Privacy notices

    With the default configuration, this plugin, in itself, does not:

    • track users by stealth;
    • write any user personal data to the database;
    • send any data to external servers;
    • use cookies.

    If you activate certain features in this plugin, the contact form submitter’s personal data, including their IP address, may be sent to the service provider. Thus, confirming the provider’s privacy policy is recommended. These features include:

    Since you seem to use none of the services, you don’t have to worry about the possibility that personal data move to them.

    Sadly there is still an image by Brevo included in all sended mails by CF7:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><div><img width="1" height="1" src="https://hdaghig.r.af.d.sendibt2.com/tr/op/[cryptic key]"></div>

    See Setting up mail

    What email settings do you have in the Mail tab panel?

    To protect personal data, hiding email addresses in the settings or replacing them with dummy addresses is strongly advised. You can also include screenshots.
