• Hi,

When I try to log in to the WordPress dashboard through the usual page /wp-admin I just get a refresh of the page without any errors.

If I click on ‘Lost your password’ I get the error ‘Please enter a username or email address’ whether I enter the username or the email.

I don’t know if it is relevant but on the error log I have ‘15042#15042: *44896 access forbidden by rule’ (and the data).

I don’t know how to fix it, can you help me?

    What I’ve tried:

    • Deleting cache, changing browser
    • Looking at the .htaccess file, but it is missing
    • Creating .htaccess file
    • Deactivate the plugins via ftp
    • Resetting to the default theme via ftp
    • Checking the user table on phpmyadmin (and editing email/password or adding user)
    • Changing admin email in wp_option

That looks like a mod_security rule, which is server-level security.

Have you contacted your hosting provider’s support about this?
