Possible conflict with Genesis Theme adding NOindex on author archives

    We recently noticed that a site running YOAST and Genesis Theme was adding noindex to all author archive pages, even thought this was set in YOAST to index.

    Genesis has it’s own SEO settings, but when YOAST is activated these settings are removed and no longer visible. However, after disabling YOAST and visiting the Genesis settings, Author archives have a checkbox for ‘noindex’. This setting appears to remain active and overrides the YOAST setting when YOAST is active.

    I figured out what was going on, in Search Appearance there is a setting for:

    Show author archives without posts in search resultsShow author archives without posts in search results

    Disabling this means that author archives without any posts will not be indexed by search engines and will be excluded from XML sitemaps.

    Turning this on, enabled indexing.
