Heads up! There may be a problem with your connection to Square. In order to continue accepting payments, please?disconnect and re-connect your site.
We have tried everything, uninstalled, reinstall, deactivated, everything we can think of to try to resolve this issue. We do have the latest Version 4.6.1; we get emails DAILY that the site is disconnected; we have the dreaded Heads Up alert and it NEVER goes away. We have other client’s sites that are not having this problem. Same theme. Can someone please assist. Suggestions please.

    Hello Victoria

    Thank you for contacting us.

Could you tell me if the Square was working fine before it you have been facing this issue since the beginning. Also, share a few screenshots of what you are seeing.
Visual clues help find the issue and resolve it.

Lastly, please check the Enable logging so the errors are logged in the backend.

After enabling it try to connect again so the entries are created.
Then go to WooCommerce > System Status > Logs and look for logs with Square keyword.
Once you find a log entry, share it with me so I can review that.

I look forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

we have this “error” about Heads Up – message and it never goes away. (not sure how to share that image here)

How do you want me to share the logs? I zipped them and added them to a drop box folder here

    Hello Victoria,

    Thanks for your patience.
    ?
After some internal investigation, I found out that the Square connection issue you’re facing is known and has been fixed in the 4.6.1 update of the WooCommerce Square plugin.
    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-square/issues/93

To help you further, I’d like to review your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com
After that, you can paste the Gist link here in your reply.

Looking forward to your reply. ??

    Best regards.

See if this works. Sorry missed the email that you sent the other day. Thank you SO MUCH for your help – it disconnected twice over the weekend.

    Hello Victoria,

    Thank you for your reply.

After reviewing the report of your site, I noticed two plugins might be interfering with the connection.
    – Sucuri Security
    – Under Construction
Could you please disable these and see if the issue persists?

Another thing I noticed is that your host has installed an All-In-One Security (AIOS) plugin.
So having two security plugins often creates random issues.
I suggest you contact your host and ask them if you still need the Sucuri Security plugin.

Let me know how it goes.
I am here to help you resolve this issue. ??

    Best regards.

I have another client that has a website with us and they have the same Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening and they have no issues. So I am removing the Under Construction as that is not on the Shorty (the other site) site at this time. Let me see if that fixes the issue. I will let you know tomorrow if it stays connected.

    Hey, @vlambert123!

I have another client that has a website with us and they have the same?Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening?and they have no issues.

Do they also have ?All-In-One Security?(AIOS) plugin? As my colleague mentioned, having two security plugins can cause issues. So please deactivate one of them to test too.

    Thank you!

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

I just found out that the Under construction was put on last week on Kyle; the security plugins are EXACTLY the same on both websites. We turned off all the settings for the security and still have issues; The Shorty website that is not having any trouble and had all the same security (actually working security) the only difference is it is running Version 8.7.0 of Woo Commerce and Version 4.6.1 of Woocommerce Square. The Kyle tack site that we are having issues with is running the latest versions of both the WooCommerce and the Woocommerce Square. It still has not resolved the issues to remove all security – we still have the error about disconnect and reconnect.

We just rolled back the Woocommerce plug in and now it is working. No more error

    Hey, @vlambert123!

We just rolled back the Woocommerce plug in and now it is working. No more error

Thank you for letting us know. This probably mean there’s something on the website that is not compatible with the current version of WooCommerce.

Can you please run a full conflict test to see if something external is interfering with this?

To test, you’ll first want to update WooCommerce to the new version again and change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and Square and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know about your findings.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Actually the only way we were able to get it working was to roll back the woocommerce version – we will wait and see about updating in the future.

    Hey, @vlambert123!

Were you able to run the full conflict test with the current WooCommerce version to check?

Do you mind sharing to which version did you rolled back to?

    Looking forward to your reply.

everything is working fine – rolled back to ?8.7.0. We had noticed that our other site had no issues and that is when I noticed that the Woocommerce plugin was different – square plugin is the latest version – but the main woocommerce is older.
