So I got in touch with my Hosting company at Krystal to confirm a few things:

    Regarding the sub-directory issue:

Hi there DeeVeeArr, many thanks for reaching out.

No, that is the primary domain on your account and as such will be served from the public_html directory:

    and:

I am not sure I am afraid, what were they asking about the subdirectory for, do you know? Ideally they would know best on how to resolve an issue with their plugin.

(On a sidenote here, I also run a one-page website with WP Rollback version 2 enabled, using the same hosting company, which seems to work fine).

Going back to the previous issue:

Yeah there’s nothing server-wise that would limit that on one site and not the other – it could be a plugin incompatibility if that particular site uses different plugins than the others, but I’d expect them to be able to see that if they are investigating.

    and:

Yeah that will not be server related then I am afraid, if there were PHP conflicts for instance that would reflect across your whole cPanel account, not just that one domain.

So then, I decided to try the error logs and asked if they could see anything in there:

Yeah I’ve also had a look and I’m not seeing anything related to that plugin I am afraid.

    And finally:

I do apologize there isn’t more we could do there, however as mentioned if they want us to check anything again please do let us know.

So that’s where we stand at present.
